Taryn and I have prayed for 9 years leading up to the start of DC Metro Church. Although only a dream years ago, we have seen God bring us full circle into a real reality. Our hope has been to “Build a God-First culture in and around the DC Metropolitan Area…” After years of prayer and seasoning in our lives we are now watching that reality come to life in DC Metro Church, which we believe will be a premier church for families and young adults in the DC Metro Area…
We have prayerfully designed each DC Metro Service to be three things: Real, Relevant and Enjoyable… If you experience these three components then we have done our job as a church team. Our aim in church is to allow God to ignite passion that leads to transformation in all the individuals that attend these services.
A Little More About Our Story
Although not new to ministry, we are fairly new to the area. Taryn and I started our journey together in ministry back during our undergraduate days at Louisiana State University (LSU - Geaux Tigers!) where we both studied business and attended a college ministry together called Living Waters Fellowship. It was in this group of passionate students that we began to sense a call into full-time ministry and to “Do Something Great for God”.
Since that time a lot has changed for us: we have both completed post graduate degrees (Taryn has a Masters in Accounting (CPA), and David has a Masters and Doctoral Degree in Ministry (M.A., DMin.)), been in full-time ministry for quite some time, gotten married (Important Step!), and had two children (Isaac-2 1/2 years old & Josiah-born in January 2008). However, one thing has not changed - our passion to see God transform peoples lives through living: the God Life, the Church Life and the Fulfilled Life that only He can give (you can learn more about these three areas at our Membership Reception).
That is who we are in a nutshell, to hear the full story and get to know a little more about the vision of DC Metro Church, be sure and attend one of our “Intro” Guest Receptions where we attempt to share it all and more…
Thanks again for visiting the site.
Love you guys and we will see you at church,
Pastor David, Taryn, Issac, & Josiah
